Office Information

Welcome to my office. I hope that your visits here will be helpful. A clear understanding of the role of a therapist and my office policies will help that be true. Please read what follows carefully because it will help you use my services effectively. Please feel free to ask me any questions that you may have.

Confidentiality

The information you share with me is confidential. That means that absolutely NO information about you or your case will be released to anyone without your written authorization and consent. Should you or I want myself to share information with another professional, I will ask you to sign a form giving me permission to do so. There are exceptions to this rule, which will be discussed, in the first session.

Visits and Fees

Fees for consultations and therapy are $150 per 50-minute session. Special services, such as school visits, are billed at the hourly rate. Please inquire about the fee policy for Custody & Access Assessments, Parenting Plans and Voice of the Child Reports.

Fees are due at the time of service. Payment can be made with cash, cheque, or credit card. Statements showing dates of visits, charges and payments will be provided upon request.

Emergencies

Emergency or extra appointments can be made during regular hours. If need be, office hours will be extended to accommodate this need.

I use a telephone answering machine on evenings and weekends. You may leave messages on this machine. Calls will be returned as soon as possible during office hours.

Cancellations

Cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance to avoid a charge to your account. There are several reasons why this policy is strictly followed: (A) Regular appointments are necessary for therapy to work. (B) Frequently, others would like to use the time set aside for you should it become available. Twenty-four hours usually gives people sufficient time to make arrangements. (C) Since therapy visits run 50 minutes, each appointment constitutes a significant portion of my schedule. Losses from missed appointments are not easily absorbed and lead to more rapid fee increases.

Exceptions: When an illness leads to a visit to your doctor’s office or a hospital, or when the weather is severe enough to close the public schools in your area, I will not charge for a missed appointment.
